Energy Star Logo

An energy star rated home assures the homeowner that they are receiving something more.  Not only is there a list of criteria that the home is to built to meet, but also there are two onsite inspections and one diagnostic test, called a "blower door test",  is administered.

The "blower door" is installed in an exterior door frame and pressurizes the home.  This pressurization allows the tester to measure the amount of air that leaks from the home.  Air leakage is one of the key measurements because it is directly related to the energy consumption of the home.

A full report and certificate are issued once the testing process has been completed.  The report spells out the exact details of the home and its results.  Below you can view the certificate issued by Energy Star, as well as each page of the report for one of our homes.

We offer an Energy Star Upgrade Package as an optional investment in your new home.
